Update on Life as Mrs. Aguila

Hey Treasures, praying you are doing well and thank you for stopping by today.  I know I am not consistent on here and surely I thought that would improve in 2014 but it seems like it got worse. Two whole months without blogging, say what?  I am wondering if any of my other fellow bloggers struggle with this?

I honestly have so many topic ideas to blog about BUT I just haven't had the time to sit and dedicate it to this here blog.  I guess I didn't realize initially, how much time goes into each blog post. I admire all bloggers who post daily plus include amazing photos.

There is a lot going on in Life as Mrs. Aguila right now and well I just don't have the time to dedicate to my blog.  It does make me sad because I love blogging and writing my heart and sharing about make up and my outfits and my shopping and my shoes and well Life as Mrs. Aguila.

I am very blessed, I can not speak about my life without speaking about Jesus and what He has done in my life. He has transformed me and while I am still a work in progress, I have also had a lot of progress in the past 8 years and if I continue to focus on what still needs work, it takes away from what the Lord has already done.

God has healed my broken heart, He has filled up the many voids I felt in my heart, He has delivered me from addiction, He has filled me with LOVE, He has given me purpose, He has blessed me with an amazing husband, He has restored my life and lit up my path that leads towards my destiny.

Blessed is the only word that comes to mind when I think of the season that Mr. Aguila and I  are in right now.

We are in the process of moving. I didn't think moving would be so tiring.  We don't have a lot of stuff or so I thought.  Funny thing my kitchen has taken me the longest time and I am not even a cooker or baker or home maker although right now I am blogging while dinner is on the stove.

So this week is packing time.  We got the keys to our new place yesterday so today at lunch time, me and the Mr. dropped off our first load of stuff. Saturday is the big moving day so more busy days ahead but once I am settled in, I will begin to blog more and share all the ideas I have for this here little space of mine on the world wide web.

Thanks again for stopping by and you can always find me on social media. The links are on the upper right hand corner.

And be sure to enter this $500 Cash Giveaway. There is still a few more days left.

Thanksgiving Week

Happy Thanksgiving week lovely Treasures.  This week we emphasize giving thanks.  I personally try to give thanks to God on a daily basis.  On Sunday at my church, my pastor taught us some great keys out of Psalms 145.  Take a moment to study this Psalm. We can learn much about praising God's greatness here from King David.

Verse 2 of Psalm 145 says, "I will praise You every day; I will honor Your name forever and ever." When we are giving praise to God everyday, we become more and more thankful.  We can always find something to be thankful for. We can start with the many things we tend to take for granted; our relationships, our churches, our freedom, our homes, our families, our jobs, our cars, our friends and even what we wear, what we eat and so on.

In reflecting on my life in the past 30 something years, I am thankful that I am not who I use to be. There was a time, when holidays especially ones like Thanksgiving were just not my thing.  I would rather be alone getting blown rather then enjoying family time or eating.   While I have to be honest, I have not fully embraced the crowds and being around a lot of people, I am not isolated or filled with shame, bound in chains. That alone is a lot to be thankful for.  God has done a mighty work in my life and yes I still need more work and I am ready for more growth and continued transformation.

Psalm 145:7 says "They will give a testimony of Your great goodness and will joyfully sing of Your righteousness."
I want to give a testimony of God's great goodness, not to brag or boast or appear to be better than anyone but purely because so much has been forgiven and given to me that I want to share this joy that I now have because of what God has done in my life.

Here are somethings I am thankful for. ( I found this photo on social media and saved it to my phone and I don't remember where I saved it from, if its your picture, leave me a comment so I can give you credit, thank you).

Be sure to take some time to thank God for your blessings. Leave me a comment and let me know what you are thankful for.

November Birthday

Hey Hey Treasures, so last week my Mother in Love had a birthday and so her children planned a very nice intimate dinner.

I have to brag on my Mother in Love and say that she is such a blessing. First of all, I have her to thank for my amazing husband. She raised a fine young man.  He is a hard worker and surely knows how to treat a lady.  Also I have to thank her for being a prayer warrior.  She always prayed for God fearing men and women for her children.  She is a great example of serving God and having a healthy praying and fasting discipline. Gracias Carmela y feliz cumpleaƱos.

We had a great time celebrating the life of this woman of God. There was picture taking MUCH. I asked Mr. Aguila if I can share some and he agreed.

As you can tell Mr. Aguila comes from a big but close knit family. My mother in love has eight children in total and lots of lovely grandchildren and of course her in loves (We're her bonus).  I believe they said 3 were missing from our family picture.

Since I was actually dolled up and ready, I took advantage and had Mr. Aguila take me some pictures.  I had ordered this blouse last month from Sugar Love Boutique and I have worn it before but didn't take clear pictures of it.  So I had Mr. Aguila take a few shots of me with his Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera phone. (all these photos were taken with his camera phone and no filters or photo shopping used)

Last

Hey Treasures, hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I am working on a blog post for an event me and my family attended last weekend and its taking me some time to get some research and put it together so I decided to check in with Lisa Jo Baker for Five Minute Friday and see what the prompt was this week and take a 5 minute break and just write.
Prompt is LAST
GO!
At first thought when I read LAST I thought to write about how sometimes I feel like I am last however that quickly changed, thank you God for your reminders.

I know of a love that will LAST.  I can now love others with that same Love that will LAST.
1 John 4:19 NIV, "We love because He first loved us"
What truth is this small but powerful scripture. A LASTing truth.
Since I know a love that will never leave me, never forsake me, never abandon me, never hurt me and nothing can separate me from this love (see Romans 8 scripture below);  Because of the promises that I am convinced of and that I hold on to, I know that I am loved by the Creator of heaven and earth, my Heavenly Father and therefore, I can now accept love and more importantly give love. I can embrace the amazing love from my husband and love him in return and I can love my family with an unconditional non-fickle love because of the love of God that I have. This kind of love will LAST.
Romans 8:37-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Jeremiah 31:3 "Long ago the LORD said to Israel: "I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself."

I have experienced God's Love that will LAST into eternity and have been transformed. Yes I am still a work in progress and yes my love can be fickle but I have hope in God's love.  I don't want to love others with my love or my way but with the love of God that has been poured into me.

Romans 5:5 NASB "and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

God's love will LAST through my ups and downs, through my failures and my victories, through my good and my bad, through my doubts and faith, through my fears and my victories and it'll reflect in my love that will last for my husband, my momma, my brother, my nephews, my family, my friends and all those I encounter on this journey of God's LASTing love.

STOP!

My Treasure, My GrandDaddy

Hey Treasures, how are you?

I have to admit, since my last post, I have not had any time to sit and think and/or write. I am not really sure why. It hasn't even been the procrastination thing, I mean procaffination.

I had a busy weekend, making memories with my grand daddy and my family.  My cousin had a fundraiser to the "Stateline".  I am a Cali girl. Lived in Los Angeles all my 30 something years. So when we say state line, we are heading to Nevada.  I hadn't been on one of these turn around trips to the Nevada/California state line in years, like over 7 years. My family goes pretty often but I usually opt out.

This time, my grand daddy, who by the way will turn 89 this month, wanted to go so I told him that if he went I would go to keep him company. So off we went. I am thankful for the time I get to spend with him. He is such a blessing to me. I just love him and our relationship.

I had the honor of having him walk me down the aisle and give me away to Mr. Aguila on my wedding day in March 2009.
Isn't he cute?

This is my maternal grandfather. This man raised 4 girls and 2 boys all by himself. He became a widow when his last child, my uncle Emilio, was being born. He is so talented and sharp wtih his hands. He fixes anything and everything.  As you can tell, I am proud to be his granddaughter.

Everytime I am around him, I just fill up with joy. His love is radiant, his presence cheers me up, his endurance teaches me, his perserverance encourages me, his smile brings me joy, his life blesses me. Does it sound familiar?  This is also what Jesus is and does for me and he also does it through my granddaddy.

My dad died when I was just five years old.  Even until this day, I am still getting healed of daddy issues. I have now found my Heavenly Father who completes me and restores me and is giving me back all that the devil has stolen from me. Although I never seen my Grandfather as a "Father figure", he was the closest thing I had to it.  He has always been my loving granddaddy, who use to work at my junior high school (yes when I attended) and who would give me rides to high school, to college and even to work before I got my car and started to drive.

Father's Day is coming up and so I guess it was a good time to honor my granddaddy. I did not plan on this post but I am ever so thankful that I have an amazing Grandfather that I am so proud of and that I was prompted to write about him today.

Who will you honor this Father's Day?  (Your Father, Your Husband, Your GrandFather, Spiritual Father, Baby Daddy, All of the Above).  Leave me a comment and let me know.
God's Treasure,

Victoria
