Coming Out Of The Cave

Good day to you Treasures,

Praying that everyone is doing well today and if not then I pray that this post will encourage you, inspire you and refresh you.

Have you ever felt like you just wanted to run and hide in a cave?  I am a city girl, Los Angeles to be exact and I don't know of any caves near me or I would have probably ran into it a long time ago.  Life happens and sometimes when it does, I just want to run and hide in a cave and although I have never physically been in a cave, emotionally and even spiritually, I have ran off into the cave like the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 19. I imagine Elijah just felt so much pressure, stress, worry and even fear so he just took off into a cave.

When I think of a cave, I think of isolated, dark, kinda creepy, lonely, hidden. What do you think of when you hear, CAVE?

The cave can represent so many different things (here are just a few examples):
  • It can represent doubt and unbelief. Maybe you have run to this cave because you doubt that things can turn around because everything is just not going right, you doubt that good can come out of such a bad situation, there is unbelief that God is with you, unbelief that you are loved by God.
  • It can represent unworthiness.  Maybe you you have run to this cave because you feel unworthy. You feel unworthy of God's love or anyone's love, you feel unworthy of a good positive life.
  • It can represent fear. Maybe you have run to this cave because you struggle with some kind of fear.
  • It can represent depression. Maybe you have run to this cave because you feel depressed over a failed marriage, the lost of a loved one, you lost your job, you feel hopeless.
  • It can represent anxiety.  Maybe you have run to this cave because you have anxiety over bills that need to get paid, or a child who is on the wrong path, or even pressure from your job or school.
  • It can represent worry.  Maybe you have run to this cave because you are worried about your bills, or your marriage, or your children.
Again the cave can represent a variety of things or emotions that we go through when trials happen in our life. Have you been there? I know I have but God is so faithful. I struggled through many things in my life and I still face some hard trials and God always encourages me with His Word.
My scripture of the week is in Romans 12:12
"Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer."

Just as God send angels to help Elijah along the way and he found him in that cave and asked him what h was doing there, God can and will do the same for me and you.
1 KINGS 19:9 "There he came to a cave and lodged in it; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah?"

He will redirect us and call us out of the cave(the darkness) into His marvelous Light. 1 Peter 2:9 AMP

In the cave, we can't shine His light, we can't fulfill our destiny, we can't utilize the gifts He has given us for Kingdom Purpose so He has to call us out and redirect us to the path He has set out for us.

We will face many trials in this life James 1:2-4 but those very trials will help build up our perserverance and if we put on the full armor of God and work on producing the fruit of the Spirit, we will no longer run to the caves because our focus won't be on doubt and unbelief but on FAITH, it won't be on unworthiness but on being valuable, it wont be on fear but on assurance, it won't be on depression but on rejoicing, it wont be on anxiety but peace, it wont be on worrying but on trusting.

We do not have to stay in the cave. Let's come out of our caves and shine bright as ever.

I want to share this video with you, Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave. I pray it ministers to you.

Winning Wednesday

Hello Treasures,

So I am trying to get better at my posting and post at least every other day. Eventually I will post every weekday. Yesterday was one month since my first published post.

Today I want to share with you my latest giveaway win, hosted by the lovely Maria-Isabel of Agape Love Designs and items courtesy of My Beauty Addiction.  Winner, Winner, Winner. I really think I am obsessed with blog giveaways and winning them is the best.

The news of winning came at the right moment.  I had been having a tough week and then I get an email from Maria-Isabel that I had won this giveaway http://www.agapelovedesigns.com/2013/05/my-beauty-addiction-giveaway.html. Yes it is over but if you click you will see the winner announced Victoria A. and that is me. Yayyy.

So this is what was up for grabs in this giveaway, 3 Eye Shadows of your choice, and choice of a Shadow Poxy or Wetliner Foiling Serum, AND choice of Sweet Kisses Lip Scrub or Whipped Jojoba Body Scrub! I had such a hard time choosing what I wanted. I can be so indecisive. I went in and out of the website so many times.
Finally I made up my mind and I chose the Whipped Jojoba Body Scrub in Cupcake.

I love the way it smells and the texture of it. I just received my goodies on Saturday so I have yet to try them but I can't wait to do so. I will also be purchasing the Sweet Kisses Lip Scrub just because a part of me feels like I should've chose that as well.

For the 3 Eye Shadows of my choice I picked--Turquoise, Nudey Booty and SpitFire and yup I will be ordering some more samples of different colors because well I just want them.

And if that wasn't hard enough, I had to choose between Shadow Poxy or Wetliner Foiling Serum.  I went with the Wetliner Foiling Serum because I wanted to try something new. I have a couple primers already but STILL I feel like I should've gotten the Shadow Poxy so I will be ordering that as well. I am just waiting to come across a coupon code. If you have one for My Beauty Addiction please share!
The Foiling Serum is a small bottle but  the directions say:  To use simply add one drop of our foiling medium to the back of your hand (or in the lid of your jar). Dip your brush into the medium and then pick up some of your minerals and mix it to the desired consistancy.
You can get more information here MBA Foiling Serum.

I will be trying out my products soon and posting about them so be sure to check back.

Be Sure to check out these giveaways,  I am giving away AVON jewelry in both.

Eye Shadow and Eye Liner

Hello to all you Treasures and happy Monday, Make Up Monday that is.

Hope everyone had a great weekend celebrating Father's Day and graduations, birthday's and all that fun stuff.

This weekend, my GIG, had her son a graduation BBQ at a park. I can't believe she is a mother to a high school graduate, so proud of her and her son.

So I usually do get my inspiration for color on my eyes by what I am wearing. Not so much that i like to match my make up with my clothes, but it just happens to be that way sometimes.
So my Blue and Green striped shirt is to blame for this EOTD

Sassy Green MAC eyeshadow, Blue Flare Avon Glimmersticks eye liner
I got some great compliments on these colors and yes I did my make up in the car on the way to the park while Mr. Aguila drove. I did the last touch ups once we got there.

For this EOTD, I used a mixture of MAC products and AVON products. Here is a look at what I used.

First I applied the MAC Prep+Prime over my entire eyelid with the Avon Concealer brush, next I applied the MAC Femme Fi (Veluxe Pearl) Eyeshadow as a highlighter with the Mary Kay Eye Definer brush, after that I applied, MAC Sassy Grass(Matte) Eyeshadow on my eyelid and up to and including my crease line with the Mary Kay Eye Crease brush. Here is a photo of my brushes.
Next I used the AVON Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blue Fare to line the top of my eyelid and my water line and lastly I applied the AVON Infinitize Mascara in Black to my eyelashes. So here it is.

As a MUA (MakeUpArtist) in the making, it is so much easier for me to just stick to one or two eyeshadows and add color with eyeliners. How do you dress up your eyes?

Leave me a comment and let me know and link up for Make up Monday at Agape Love Designs.

My Treasure, My GrandDaddy

Hey Treasures, how are you?

I have to admit, since my last post, I have not had any time to sit and think and/or write. I am not really sure why. It hasn't even been the procrastination thing, I mean procaffination.

I had a busy weekend, making memories with my grand daddy and my family.  My cousin had a fundraiser to the "Stateline".  I am a Cali girl. Lived in Los Angeles all my 30 something years. So when we say state line, we are heading to Nevada.  I hadn't been on one of these turn around trips to the Nevada/California state line in years, like over 7 years. My family goes pretty often but I usually opt out.

This time, my grand daddy, who by the way will turn 89 this month, wanted to go so I told him that if he went I would go to keep him company. So off we went. I am thankful for the time I get to spend with him. He is such a blessing to me. I just love him and our relationship.

I had the honor of having him walk me down the aisle and give me away to Mr. Aguila on my wedding day in March 2009.
Isn't he cute?

This is my maternal grandfather. This man raised 4 girls and 2 boys all by himself. He became a widow when his last child, my uncle Emilio, was being born. He is so talented and sharp wtih his hands. He fixes anything and everything.  As you can tell, I am proud to be his granddaughter.

Everytime I am around him, I just fill up with joy. His love is radiant, his presence cheers me up, his endurance teaches me, his perserverance encourages me, his smile brings me joy, his life blesses me. Does it sound familiar?  This is also what Jesus is and does for me and he also does it through my granddaddy.

My dad died when I was just five years old.  Even until this day, I am still getting healed of daddy issues. I have now found my Heavenly Father who completes me and restores me and is giving me back all that the devil has stolen from me. Although I never seen my Grandfather as a "Father figure", he was the closest thing I had to it.  He has always been my loving granddaddy, who use to work at my junior high school (yes when I attended) and who would give me rides to high school, to college and even to work before I got my car and started to drive.

Father's Day is coming up and so I guess it was a good time to honor my granddaddy. I did not plan on this post but I am ever so thankful that I have an amazing Grandfather that I am so proud of and that I was prompted to write about him today.

Who will you honor this Father's Day?  (Your Father, Your Husband, Your GrandFather, Spiritual Father, Baby Daddy, All of the Above).  Leave me a comment and let me know.
God's Treasure,

Victoria

No More Fear

Good day beautiful Treasures,

I have to admit that I am weak and I dont do well under pressure. This week has not been easy for me or my family. I felt as if in an instant my amazing life was about to fall apart. I cried myself to sleep on several nights. My fears were taking over so rapidly, that I didnt even realize it. I was in a state of despair. How can I fix this, how can I fix this, how can i fix this? Is a question that raced through my untamed mind. So many memories awakened in me, so many fears came rushing at me.

Fear literally paralyzes you.
The definition of paralyze is to bring to a condition of helpless stoppage, inactivity, or inability to act.
That is exactly how I felt.  I was overcome with fear and stopped right in my tracks of everyday life. I went home and just laid in bed and did not want to do anything but cry and cry and cry some more. Have you ever been paralyzed with fear?

Oh how I thank God for an amazing life partner. Mr. Aguila is such a blessing to me. He encourages me and loves me through it all.

God as also blessed me with some amazing GIG's (GirlfriendS in God).  They also encourage me and lift me up when I want to stay down.  Thanks Rachel and Darlene! I love you both oodles and oodles!

But most of all what a blessing it is to have a relationship with the Almighty Father through Jesus Christ and to have His Living Word that speaks into your spirit and says "Arise and fight for nothing is impossible for Me." I was so encouraged by 2 Samuel Chapter 22 and 23.  You can read it by clicking on the link.

Today, I wanted to be open and transparent and reach out and encourage you and inspire you. Maybe some of you are paralyzed with fear right now. Maybe you are facing a tough situation in your life, God wants you to also know that Nothing is impossible for Him. He already knows what we have need of even before we ask.  His perfect love, casts out all fear. We have to make a choice to choose FAITH and not Fear, in case you missed that post, read it HERE.

I have noticed that when you are going through a tough time but you take the focus off of yourself and you reach out and inspire others, God shows up and shows off. He shows up and He showers you with renewed strength, He gives you a deeper level of FAITH, He empowers you with HOPE.

We do not have to stay paralyzed in fear. In fact, I am refusing to and I am encouraging you to allow God's love to cast out all of your fear as well. Put your full trust in the One who is able to help us.

Check out this awesome community, I love linking up with on Thursdays. (It's still Thursday right?)

The Beauty Procrastinator Tag {You're It!}

I came across this post at an awesome blog Nykki Talks Beauty last week and commented that I would be posting this as a Fun Friday post. Ok yes I do realize it is now Wednesday BUT I was not procrastinating I was procaffinating.

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?

I rarely remove my make up before bed, oh who am I fooling, I NEVER remove my make up before bed. I guess its a good thing, I dont wear it everyday!
2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?

No, I sure do not do this regularly. Wait am I suppose to??
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?

It really depends how bad my procrastinating is lasting I mean my procaffinating. Sometimes I can't last at all with chipped nails and others times well you know the rest, right?
4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?

I dont put off buying or replacing anything actually. I need it, I want it I buy it. Hope Mr. Aguila isn't reading this. (giggle, giggle, giggle)

5. What is your worst beauty habit?

My worst beauty habit, I'd have to say is putting on my make up in the car and/or at work.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?

Cleaning; I hate cleaning. (this was Nykki's answer) I dont know why it is still there (giggle, giggle)

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?

I sure do and then remember my answer on #5.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?

Oh no no no. What kind of question is this anyway!  =)
9. How organised is your make-up and nail polish collections?

I don't have much of a nail polish collection so that is pretty organized as for my make up well let's see, I have so much make up that it's pretty hard to keep it all together but I do plan to get to that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay; Now You're turn! Answer the questions and post it on your blog!
Leave me the link and I'll come by and have a read! :)
Color of the sunDAY-Coral
Hello Treasures,
I wanted to share what I am calling a coral LOTD. I have to admit on a regular day, I don't wear much make up BUT I really do love make up! I like to call myself a MUL=Make Up Lover and that is because I love to BUY make up. I guess I can, not only call myself, a shoe collector but also a make up collector? Well moving right along.
Confession time--I put my make up on in my car. {awkward silence} as you wonder why. I don't know actually but Sunday morning drive to church, includes Mr. Aguila behind the wheel and Mrs. Aguila putting on her make up.
I wore a bright coral blouse yesterday to church so I was inspired by it for some make up.
Faith Not Fear
Hello Treasures,
Happy Sunday. Hoping everyone has had a great weekend so far. I have to admit my weekend has been challenging.
Life happens and we will face different situations. At church this morning my pastor taught on Faith (Good Report) or Fear (Bad Report). It was a great message and so timely. It was based on Numbers 14.
The message really made me think about something my family is dealing with right now and what report I was going to believe. Many times fear tries to take over and all you can focus on is what appears as a "bad report". Yes, the "situation" is real and it does not appear good however if we let faith take over we can see a God report coming out of a bad situation. Does that make sense?
Today I am choosing, no matter what happens or what the outcome of what we are facing is, to operate in faith and believe the God report. Yes the opposition looks strong, yes this situation is hurtful, yes I am in touch with reality however God is bigger, God is greater, God is able. God can turn this situation around for the good of those who love Him. I will not allow fear to destroy my faith and the good report of the Lord.
No matter what we face in life, we always have a choice on how we will handle different situations.
Be encouraged Treasures.
2 Corinthians 4:7 (AMP)
However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
